Don't put your pension at risk

Pension liberation scams have been covered heavily in the media recently, and are a growing problem.

Pension liberation scams involve targeting individuals and offering to transfer their pension savings to an arrangement that will allow them to access their funds before the age 55. Some even offer a cash incentive for doing so.

Some of these schemes have very high risk investments or high charges, so please consider taking financial advice before requesting a pension transfer.

In addition, transferring to a scheme of this type is likely to result in serious tax charges with penalties of more than half the value of a member’s pension savings. Those being targeted are not usually told about the potential tax implications or fees involved and are possible victims of fraud.
