Balanced Managed Fund

Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada (U.K.) Limited (SLOC UK) working in conjunction with the Sun Life Financial International Investment Centre determine the asset allocation of the SLFC Balanced Managed Fund.

The SLFC Balanced Managed fund invests a proportion of its assets in a number of other Sun Life Financial of Canada funds including: UK, North American, European, Japan, Far East and Emerging Markets equities, UK Fixed Interest, Index Linked Gilt, Property and Money, two external Global Fixed Interest funds. This means that the SLFC Balanced Managed fund benefits from the specialist fund managers that have been chosen for each asset class.

Emerging Markets Fund

Baillie Gifford manages the SLFC Emerging Markets Fund.

Baillie Gifford is an independent private partnership investment management firm based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The firm has built its success around the stability of its partnership structure which provides reassurance for clients and motivation for employees. As at 30 June 2019, there were 43 partners of the firm and just under 1200 employees.
